About Riff Raff Tavern on the canal
In August of 2013 a dream and vision became a reality and Riff Raff Tavern on the canal opened its doors. What had once been a vacant building has had the entire lower floor remodeled to create a comfortable place for people to gather and have a good time while listening to live music which includes Blues, Southern Rock, Rock and Roll and Country, shooting pool, grabbing a bite to eat or just enjoying good company and a drink. Mike and Bev spent a lot of time choosing the right décor to give it a relaxed atmosphere. The Blues Brothers are there to greet you when you arrive. An antique back bar that was shipped in from Chicago has become a conversation piece for many patrons with its historic background.
Mike and Bev invite you to stop in for a drink and a bite to eat real soon!
Mike’s, the owner of Riff Raff Tavern on the canal, 10 years old granddaughter created the Riff Raff logo. She had nothing to do, and she started drawling. The logo drawing, his granddaughter explained, was from the “olden days” (to her anything before 1995 was old). After viewing her artwork, it brought a smile to Mike’s face, and he had it trademarked. After a few tweaks, this drawling became the logo of Riff Raff tavern on the canal.
What does this mean to you as you read this? Probably nothing. If only we as a adults could view the world through the eyes of a child each day then we would realize what a wonderful world we live in.
